2.3 Configuring the Database Environment
Use the [Database Environment Configuration] dialog box to define a new database environment or edit an existing one.

The following are the values to be specified in the Database Environment Configuration screen.
Specify a database environment name used in a program using the DB access class library. Existing database environment names cannot be changed.
Select the type of server database to which a connection is made by the database environment name specified above.
Select the driver that uses the database environment name specified above.
Specify the following kinds of information in accordance with the driver selected in [Driver Type]:
Select this check box when gaining access to a database residing on the same machine as that on which the program is running.
Specify the host name of the server on which the database to access resides when [SymfoWARE high-speed driver] has been selected in [Driver Type] and the [Local Database] check box has not been selected.
Specify the port number of SymfoWARE/RDB when [SymfoWARE high-speed driver] has been selected in [Driver Type] and the [Local Database] check box has not been selected.
For information about SymfoWARE/RDB port number, refer to "RDB Operations Guide" pertaining to the type of server used.
