Eric Nelson has served as President of GT Software since January of 2011. Nelson joined GT Software in 2000 as CFO/COO. With over 16 years of experience in the Information Technology and Services industry, Nelson provides a strong operational, financial and IT leadership background. Nelson also served as Vice President of Finance and Administration at Virtual Premise, Controller at RedCelsius, and Controller at NSDI-Teleperformance. Nelson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from State University of New York College at Oswego.
Leadership Team


As CTO, Steve Able is responsible for GT Software's technology direction and product strategy. Able, who joined GT Software in 1982, is a veteran of the mainframe industry, with over 34 years of experience in software architecture, design and programming. Prior to joining GT Software, Able worked for University Computing Company (UCCEL, now Computer Associates), where he established a new business line as a Performance Analysis Consultant. Prior to joining UCCEL, Able worked for Levi Strauss and Company as part of their Field Operating System support team. Able received his Computer Science degree and certificate from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College, and is Co-Author of the Ivory patent 7,665,064 with Roland Martin.

As Senior Vice President of Sales at GT Software, Wes Young manages the direct sales force and development of the partner and reseller channels. Young joined the GT Software team in 2010, bringing 25 years of experience in the software industry. Prior to GT Software, Young served as Vice President of Sales at Progress Software, focusing on DataDirect mainframe and data integration solutions. Young joined Progress when it acquired NEON Systems, where he rebuilt the North American sales team and reseller/distribution channel. Prior to his time at NEON, he worked at PeopleSoft as Midwest Regional Vice President of Sales. Young’s sales career also includes positions at Cross Access Corp., Intersov/Merant, Evolve and Bachman Information systems. Young holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from DeVry University in Chicago, Illinois.

Chris Garner is the Vice President of R&D at GT Software, where he leads the engineering organization that creates and delivers the Ivory, BMS and Assist products. Garner joined GT Software in 2011, bringing over 36 years of experience in R&D, QA, Support, Product Management and Services Management. Prior to joining GT Software, Garner has held a variety of executive positions including the QA and PMO Vice President role at SolArc, Inc. for the RightAngle and NatGas products, Sr. Vice President of R&D for the Shadow Products Group at NEON Systems, (acquired by DataDirect Technologies), VP of R&D at Altra Energy, Inc., Director of the PATROL KM division at BMC Software and Director of DB Solutions (DB2 Tools and DB2/IMS Monitors) at Candle Corporation. Garner has extensive experience in enterprise software development as well as managing geographically distributed teams.

Jane Aderhold joined GT in January of 2012 and is responsible for sales operations and inside sales. With over 20 years of successful software sales and sales management experience, she has held sales leadership roles at Progress Software, NEON Systems, DataDirect Technologies and Intersolv. Jane holds a Bachelor of Science and a Masters of Business Administration from The University of Georgia.

Dan Finerty leads the solutions consulting team as Vice President of Systems Engineers at GT Software. He joined the team with over 30 years of experience in building IT solutions forcustomers. A wide range of experience with both mainframe and distributed systems provides the foundation to assist customers in leveraging existing legacy assets in a more innovated and economic manner. Finerty's career started with a 19 year stint in sales and consulting at IBM Canada, followed bya career at Progress Software focusing on mainframe integration. Finerty holds a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo.

As Vice President of Global Alliances, Wilson Rains is responsible for cultivating and managing partnerships to expand the implementation footprint of GT Software mainframe integration and data access solutions globally. Rains joined GT Software in 2004, and brings more than 15 years of business development experience to his role. Prior to joining GT Software, Rains led sales and business development posts at Jacada, ClientSoft, and IBM. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree from The Citadel in Charleston, SC.
