Support
for Previous Versions
In general, it is not Fujitsu Software Corporation’s policy
to support previously released versions of our software. “If
you are using Version 7 or 8 of NetCOBOL for Windows and still have
a current maintenance agreement, we recommend that you take advantage
of the free upgrades and upgrade to Version 9. As our run-time system
supports code compiled with these earlier releases, upgrading does
not force you to recompile all your applications. If you are still
current on maintenance you are still able to use our support systems
as described on our main support Web page.
If you are not
on maintenance and need support for these versions (something we
expect is unlikely as you've probably sorted out your questions
by now) then your options are either to purchase a maintenance agreement
or use some of the other resources listed on our main support page.
Support for Versions 3 and
4
Fujitsu COBOL versions 3 and 4 are included in many COBOL books
and Version 3 is available for students to download for FREE. It
is provided primarily for educational use. We do not provide support
for these products. The original support pages, however, are still
available linked from the navigation bar at the top left of this
page.
Fujitsu COBOL V3, V4 and Windows 2000 / Windows XP
Fujitsu COBOL V3 and V4 will not install on the Microsoft Windows
2000 and Windows XP operating systems. If you attempt to do this
you will receive the following message:
"NT Service Pack 3 must be installed before Fujitsu can be
installed"
Your best course of action is to read the Windows
2000 and Windows XP Application Compatibility Tips which should
provide a solution.
