Notes on usage of the installer for Windows

Contents

You should uninstall V3 products (if V3 products are installed).
You cannot install V4 products into a directory containing a space.

Notes on usage of COBOL CBL_routines

  • Product defect information is written on our Web site. Please refer http://www.netcobol.com.
  • Sample programs in the FileRoutines directory can be executed from the MS-DOS command prompt.
  • Parameter usage is displayed if these sample programs are executed with no parameters.
  • Please refer to this usage when you execute these sample programs.
  • Sample programs in other directories can be executed with no parameters.
  • There is a known problem: Project path name information of Sample programs is incorrect.
  • You will need to update the path names using Rename under the Project Manager; an updated version with the correct path names will be made available on our web site.

    When the application is debugged from the application in the form by which the debugger is started, this environment variable is specified. Please refer to "Specification which uses the start command" for the debugger-start-parameters.

    @CBR_SCR_KEYDEFFILE (Specification of key definition file of screen operation)

    @CBR_SCR_KEYDEFFILE=key definition file

    When the function key of the user definition is used by the screen operation function, the file name by which the function key of the user definition is defined is specified.

    A relative path name and an absolute path name can be specified for the file name. When the relative path name is specified, the file name becomes a relative path from the current directory.

    6. PowerBSORT supports two-digit years data type. For more information, please refer to online manual (for UNIX) or Help file (for Windows).

Runtime Installer Information

These are the Runtime Installers for Windows products:

  • COBOL Runtime Installer
    This installer installs COBOL runtime system.
  • PowerCOBOL Runtime Installer
    This installer installs COBOL and PowerCOBOL runtime systems.
  • PowerFORM Runtime Installer
    This installer installs COBOL, PowerCOBOL and PowerFORM runtime systems.

These latest installers are placed on CD. The installers, which are installed when Standard, Professional and Enterprise products are installed, are down-level versions. Please use the following installers instead:

  • \Tools\Patch\Rts\Runtime COBOL Runtime Installer
  • \Tools\Patch\Rts\Runtime PowerCOBOL Runtime Installer
  • \Tools\Patch\Rts\Runtime PowerFORM Runtime Installer
